Massey ferguson 88 hard to start

Hi I'm having trouble getting my
MF 88 to start. It's getting gas, air, and
Spark . It turns over ok but just sputters
And fires a bit here and there. The carb
Has been cleaned and rebuilt. I had it
Running very well a while ago and now
It doesn't want to. When it does fire it
Seems to slow the engine From cranking
Over and it just sputters but won't start.
Any suggestions??? Thanks a lot

I'm assuming new points? Sounds like timing too far advanced which could be points set wrong or distributor been moved.

Yes new points and condensor and
Distributer hasn't been touched and
I just cleaned plugs and checked for
Spark. Could it have anything to do with
Coil?

Did you set the gap on the plugs after you cleaned them.
