I'm getting ready to do my 1st 50 hour oil & filter changes.
Hydraulic Filter 6258877M91 by AGCO is also a WIX C4635
I'm having a hard time finding Permatran 821 XL Fluid down here in Southern Tennessee.
Does anyone know of an equivalent brand ?

I was told to stay away from anything like 303.
Also the Permatran III is now out dated for this equipment.
Open to suggestions....

My dealer stocks all of the fluids, though I haven’t priced them yet. We, probably, won’t be due for the 50 hours service until later summer.

My problem is the dealer is 150 miles away. Long drive for a few quarts of Hydro-fluid .... There is a Mahindra dealer that's closer. I'll try them later this week.
My Massey Ferguson GC1723EB tractor looks a lot like :confused2: New Holland, Mahindra, and Yanmar sub-compact brands. The big difference is paint color and a few minor tweaks.

Look up comparisons for hydraulic fluids.... I had some references but over weekend I has a system crash, and had to format hard drive and do clean install.... So all my tractor data/research is gone..... But Look at AMSOIL site and few other places and you will probably see only thing much different is color of container and label...

The C4635 seems to be a FRAM number... Wix converts it to 51195.... Which is NOT A "SPIN ON" filter....

Wix Filters - Product Catalog search results

Part Details

My shop manual states hydraulic filter is a 10 micron.... Oddly enough a WIX filter for Kubuata is a 11 micron

lookup for WIX WL10285...

Interesting hydraulic fluid x-reference about page 34..

The new permatran is a semi synthetic, which supersedes the old stuff. It's good fluid and can be purchased online in 2.5 gallon jugs. Stick with OEM filters...it's to expensive to be cheap here.

If you're dealer won't sell and ship to you...give Ron's equipment in ft Collins Colorado a call. They got me all the filters and fluids and had it on my door step in a week. Simple.

On the contrary. They’re all very different machines, manufactured by very different companies. Personally, I wouldn’t use Mahindra-spec fluid in my Massey, as the components are manufactured by different companies, and the specs for the fluids are different, if I remember correctly. Using the wrong-spec fluids WILL void the warranty, which could be an insanely expensive decision later on.

Massey GC-Series is designed and manufactured by Iseki in Japan. Massey designs the visuals.
Mahindra is an Indian company who sources from other companies, similar to New Holland and John Deere.
Yanmar designs and manufactures their own tractors in Japan, like Iseki and Kubota. Yanmar supplies engines for other brands, such as Deere and Mahindra.

I did a ton of research across brands before deciding on the Massey. It offered the best bang for the buck, along with AGCO’s very attractive financing offers. John Deere was over-priced for what you really got, and Kubota was lacking in a few areas, as well as being too pricy. Mahindra offered an attractive package for the money, but stories of warranty claim issues was the big factor that pushed me away. Yanmar was a good package, but not really any better than the Massey, and it was a little too much money for an aging design with less features than the Massey.
