Massey Ferguson nightmare

The saga continues. My dealer’s tech spent the last 2 days working on three warranty items. He said all three problems were corrected when he left yesterday. This morning I discovered that the right brake is still inoperable. I hope this ends before I go broke because of down time .
Maybe your issue is inept mechanical skill from your dealer/mechanic ... and less related to the machine itself.

I don't recall from earlier posts, but have you considered trying a different dealer?

The problem is both. I am looking at buying a John Deere from another dealer. I am trying to determine which JD model is most reliable.

In New Hampshire, Massey dealers have been evaporating. From what 2 ex dealers told me, Agco is not so nice to work with, so it痴 not just the retail customers. Too bad. One of the dealerships was a great longtime Massy dealer. Think they are selling Mahindras now

I think the ex dealers must be right. Five phone calls to AGCO Answers and three letters sent by my attorney and still no response.

I would sue them IF you have everything including every repair you have done on this POS tractor... I'm surprised since you have an attorney you haven't done so already..

It is in the works.

Bag man, It would be helpful to those of us the have 4700 series if you would list all the problems/symptoms and the solutions if any that fixed it or attempted. That way we can document possible common problems and get ahead of them if needed. I know one 4707 owner was getting trouble codes and it turned out to be fuel filters so now I will change mine early just in case.

I follow some 4710 owners on YouTube and so far then still like there tractors (DLH farms, Bagwell farms).

Thanks and hopefully you get some relief soon.

Bag Man I assume you are way into this thing and have already tried all the simple routes. It took me 3 years (part of which was my own awkward circumstance being 330 miles from my tractor most of the time) to get all the bugs out of my 2011 MF 2660HD. I would comment that the regional service rep for AGCO is and should be a very key player in all such messes. In most cases that rep can resolve nearly every issue in terms of defining the problem, settling "who pays" with the dealer, getting some priority set, etc. Your dealer SHOULD have given you name and phone number and email address for that rep. If you have not spoken directly and thoroughly with the regional service rep you haven't been the best route before getting into litigation and legal expenses.

In my own lengthy and ugly set of MF problems AGCO made it 100% right eventually. Good luck to ya !!

So almost a year old but was there ever an outcome ?

Bummer on your bad experience(s). It is obviously a source of stress and I hope you found an acceptable outcome. I bought a 4709 in 2020. Dealer support has been outstanding. The tractor is very nice in all respects. Mine was assembled in China. I hear a lot of 'cheap cheap cheap' criticism on stuff made in China but mine is heavy as heck, is lovely to work with, and the fit and finish is very nice. Stuff produced in North America is not all top notch quality, and I hear lots of griping about JD equipment too. There are lots of negative reviews for every brand on-line, but few people bother to sign in to outline their positive experiences.
