Who is building tractors for massey ferguson ? Do they come from India or japan these days ? What diesel engine is being used in the 25- 45 hp range ?

Massey Fergusen Cuts are made by Iseki in Japan. The engine is an Iseki as well and are very dependable. I'm not sure how long Iseki has been the manufacturer, but it has been for quite awhile.

That's what I thought .A friend at work says his father has a 2000 or 2002 mod. massey 40 hp that's has a perkins in it . Is this possible ?

Iseki has been making MF compacts since about 1990 or 1991 depending on who's numbers you look at. Iseki started building tractors in 1962 and they are now one of the largest manufactures of compact tractors and rice combines in Japan.

Not only POSSIBLE, but PROBABLE. The 400 series utility tractors used Perkins diesels.

JerryG or Scotty can give you better info there. I'm not very "informed" on the compacts. I believe the are all 1XXX series though.

The smaller 400 series tractors are very simular to the model 35 and 50 that featured the Perkins 3-cylinder (AD152-3) on their diesel versions way back in the mid 1950's. It was such a simple but effective design then, more than 50 years later they still sell in big numbers all over the world.

The 1100s, 1200s, 1400s and 1500s have been Iseki.

No , just that a friend at work said that his dad had a 40-45 hp massey & he said he thought that it had a perkins deisel & I had heard here (or somewhere) that they had an Iseki engine. I guess Hinomoto don't build massey's anymore . It's hard to keep up with with who is building who's tractor. Kinda like the A/C business. You never know from 1 day to the next who bought out who .
Thanks, for the info jerry
