Massey Ferguson

Dealt for a Massey Ferguson 35 and it has a 135 Perkins 3 cylinder, completely rebuilt. Its never been started, and I was told that they ordered a pump for a 35. I have the front case off of it and timed it and it wont hit a lick. I spray it with starting fluid and it starts and quits and wont run on fuel, and the pump is working and squirts fuel when I crack the lines. Need suggestions PLEASE!

Have you tried to bleed the air out of the fuel system?

I changed my fuel filter one time on a Perkins diesel and got air in the system. It was a pain to get the air out but once I followed the instructions I found somewhere on this site it fired right up.

Yeep, bleeding these systems is a pain, but generally straight forward. I reccomend you have jumper leads handy in case you flatten the battery as the hand pump is awkward to use. You get pissed off and use the starter instead. A rag to go on the hand pump lever will make it a bit more comfortable to use.
