I’m a young’un born in ‘40. I have had a 1010 since 1985 and it still runs like a champ. Not as pretty as it was 45 years ago but it's dependable. I had a serious overheating problem when I used the belly mower with it years ago. I had two problems: one was the fan belt was loose but the real problem was grass debris from mowing blocking the radiator. I started to blow the radiator out from both the front and back sides, during and after every use and that eliminated the problem. That happened in 1986. The 16 HP engine is working pretty hard whenever a load is put on it so proper cooling is critical.
Hi I bought mine new in 85 also.. It's been an awesome little tractor. and ha done some really hard work blowing snow in big drifts, but has never let me down till now, and it was my fault not the tractor's.. In 35 years I've never changed the coolant or had the rad professionally cleaned.. I suspect it's good for another 35 years...lol.. when I die my son in Ontario wants it for his 2 acres.. I hope it serves him as well as it did me.. thanks to this forum and the great members like yourself that got me going again..
