A friend has a MF150. Very solid tractor! I always liked the bodywork on that vintage of Massey Ferguson. Growing up Dad had a 35, then a 135 and the last (and still have it) was a 245. Needless to say I spent a lot of hours behind a Perkins diesel over the years. The only one he ever had trouble with was the 35. It was worn out before he got it. The dealer claimed he had been completely through it and fixed everything. It didn't take long for it to lock up because the mechanic had used chrome rings with chrome sleeves when they threw a field overhaul in it. Shortly after he got it back from that he had trouble with the rear differential and when he pulled the top off he found 3 wrenches (and some gear teeth) floating around in the housing! The dealer decided he didn't really want to get whooped so a trade for a lightly used 135 was arranged. The others were bulletproof. The 245 was purchased new in about 1980 and it has had a grand total of nothing done to it except for being worked like a rented mule. The hour meter died years ago so I have no idea how many are actually on it. I've pulled a plow many a mile on that one.
