Has it turns out all of the thin metal i found in the oil pan is the lower half of the piston and all of the sleeve.What iam asking now is what is between the block and sleeve because this engine was ran with the piston going up and down with no sleeve.could my block be ruined thanks steve

Steve without Micro it is hard to say, But my guess is not really. As long as it hasn't Gouged into the Cyl wall to bad any machine shop should be able to line Bore it and put in new sleeve's. but that's just my thoughts on the matter.
