Massey restoration beginner

Get the part numbers from agcopartsbooks then have your local Massey dealer look for old stock parts from dealers around the country. If your dealer won't do this call Green Hills Ag in Brookfield, They are super helpful . My number is 314-960-4416

Those are awsome tractors. You should find that the engine is Toyosha. There is a Hinomto equivelent # that might be better for part searching than using a Massey#. Do a Google I think you will find it.

reversed tires in front would be very beneficial on a tractor used for loader work. When the rear end gets light with a loaded bucket the front tires will grip better and self clean backing out of a pile. Farmers would often reverse the drive tires on combines so they can back out of a row of crops when the ground gets too soft to go forward.

Well maybe we all should switch our tires over. No one I know does this,is this a case thing? You have to load your bucket first and the way those tires are you get less traction going forward.

The fronts would only dig well if the FIN was loaded. Pushing into a pile the back wheels are doing all the pushing. Is your MF 4WD with a loader? It makes sense if the FIL shifts the COG to the front. If he has loaded rear tires it's somewhat a mute point what kind of tires on the front. -kid

?????????????How many 135s have 4wd? How many tractors you see besides this one with the tires on backwards? Maybe a factory option kids?

He may very well have put them on there by mistake. Or maybe not. If the OP likes it that way, why does it bother you? Maybe he realized what he did and changed it. Maybe he did it to get a reaction from the peanut gallery. Maybe just maybe they are more for navigation than any other purpose. I wouldn't allow children to play with real tractors option or no option.. Your mileage may vary. - the kid
