massy ferguson 1655 low hyd and hydrosatic pressure

I have a 1655 when i start hydrostatic and hydralics work ok but dies quickly.just woundering if it has a common suction or relief or what would cause both problems?

My 1655 has a spin on filter, you may need a filter change.

they use the same pump so same suction.If you've not done so change the filter,hows the oil level.what condition is the oil,does it look smell burnt. Some other thing's to check out is check to make sure both the belts are tight that drive the shaft that turns the hydro pump.Is the spring that keeps tension on the belts keeping the belts tight.The splines on the hydro shaft and yoke are they good,how about the splined pulleys are they good.More then likely your belts are glazed and not enough tension if you've never changed or adjusted them check that out first,let me know what you find out.Thanks Larry

Guess we should know if you're talking a 1655 garden tractor or the newer 1655 compact tractor. I was thinking compact, but now I'm guessing garden tractor?
