Kubota BX2200
Where can I purchase matching paint for my BX2200, preferably in a spray can? I purchased a can from my dealer, but it had a serious brown tint (yes, I shook it well). I bought an aftermarket can from Tractor Supply, but it had a more yellow tint. Surely, Kubota or someone offers an exact match (or at least a close match).

I purchased a can of spray paint last week for the loader on my 2200. The dealer had two colors one for older models and one for newer models. The match was very good.

Use Chevy engine orange if you want a perfect match.

I'll second that.

I tried teh Chevy enging orange this weekend. It was certainly closer than the other two paints I tried, but still off (darker). I do not think my paint has faded that much. I am going to look for a different brand of the same paint color and give that a try. I will keep you posted. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Okay, so Dupli-Color makes a few different variations of the Chevy Engine Orange, and I started with the wrong one, DE-1607 Orange-Red. The DE-1620 is a pretty darn close match if not perfect. I plan to purchase another can of the Kubota Bright Orange II paint just to prove that the can I have now is faulty (kind of brownish orange). Anyway, thanks for the help! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I prefer the brush on paint to build up a thicker coat. I tried several spray cans but couldn't get a decent match. I did determine that the base primer color can influence how many top coats are needed to get a good match. I ended up with the following... bare metal phosphatised, primed and top coated with a color blended at the local true value store. I got a paint chip from HD called light speed orange and true value mixed to match it. The result is a dead ringer for the kubota factory color.
Best of luck,
Martin

What does "phosphatized" mean? Can you tell I am not a painter? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
