Anyone else mix their own? It saves money by avoiding a closet full of one time use paint cans over time that must be thrown away.
Factor colors for big name tractor manufactures is easy to find locally. Kubota is one of the exceptions along with less popular brands. Then there's the problem of weathering and fading which new paint doesn't match. Another problem is quality of paint offered in farm colors. Enter 1 gallon or quart each red, yellow, blue, black and white. In addition to those 5 colors meeting the need for many things, two or more can be combined to yield any color including those that have faded. A color wheel is a huge help if not almost necessity. Acrylics and other water soluble finishes have replaced solvent base paint in factories, automotive and high maintenance environments. I would recommend water soluble for this purpose but if if one prefers solvent thin and clean-up Rustoleum Safety is hard to beat for price and quality. There's online sites where color mixing can be practiced. I often use online mixing to get close to percentage of each color before going to wheel and mixing the batch. Clear, disposable one ounce medicine cups are handy.

Vintage U-haul and Kubota orange-red and black is the same stuff.

I talked with a retired Kubota Gray Market importer. He stated that is all they ever re-painted the Kubota machines with.
Buying Kubota orange paint labeled as such is way to pricey.

The color codes below for RAL is for paint.

The newer Kubota's use a little more red today in the color.

Does anyone know of a perfect (spray can) match for "Woodland Mills" green? Tried Rustoleum Hunter Green and it's too light and not blue enough.

My stump grinder had a nice big hole worn in the paint right in the middle of the rear face of the wheel cover from a bent piece of the steel shipping crate rubbing on it.

By the way, Jaxs, I know this may not exactly be the intent of your post, but I think it is a great idea to have a paint-match thread, where people can post-up readily available paint (like Rustoleum) that matches various brands of equipment.

The industry standard for color matching paint is the RAL number. RAL is used globally.

When you walk into the stores to find the base paint can/jug, they squirt the appropriate color dyes in, then on the shaker all of this gets mixed. To get to the right balance, the RAL number is used. It tells the counter person how much of what dye to add.

There is the trust worthy RAL classic colors since paint was classified into a standard.

And a modern chart where shading and additives give gloss and sheen.
Walk into any paint store or home store and notice the color index cards.
