I am looking at the X595 vs the 2210. I've read the many posts on the choice, thanks they are helpful. I do have one issue still with the 2210 - is there still no material collection system for it? Seems silly when there are collection systems for the 790/990 and X series.

bkennedy,

The MC collection system has sucessfully been modified to fit the 2210.

Thanks. How much modification is necessary and is this something the dealer does, or I am doing?

bkennedy,

I believe it was a poster on tractorpoint.com that had his dealer do this. I did a quick search, but I never have good luck with searches. The post did include pics and did use the 3PT hitch and hydraulics.

I had the MC519 collection system and cart for my x585- didn't like it. Prone to clogging and stalling the blower. When I traded up to my 4110 last winter one of the conditions was that the dealer take back the MC519 at my cost and replace it with something else (the MC was like new)...the 'something else' is being installed next week.

bkennedy,

I too struggled with your decision. I had a 445 with the MC519 and powerflow head and loved it. I wanted to upgrade, but the 2210 did not have a collection system. I wanted the 2-speed hydrostat and higher capacity load on the 2210, but wanted the X-series collection system.

I studied the situation and decided I could make the MC519 cart work with the 2210 since the mower decks are identical and the powerflow head would fit the 2210 decks. All I had to do was mount the MC519 cart.

If you search on my user name for my previous post, you will find one on my MC519 conversion. I ended up making a hitch that bolts to the front of the cart and works with either the links or a quick hitch. I've been real happy with it and I have the added benefit of being able to carry the cart and dump it from a height of about 3 feet. Let's you pile the collected material onto existing piles.

Let me know what you think.

John
