A consideration to add in is where are you located? And do you really need them? For me I can generally get away without them because of property shape and such. And then sometimes you can get away with a cable chain setup as opposed to the full up chains.

Recently bought a set of 4 off some ebay dealer. They fit, but the chain could be much thicker. They work ok for the front and have offered better traction overall. But my $0.02 is spend a little more and get alot more. I will not be putting these back on my tractor next season.....

I bought a set from Tire Chains .com. I have turf tires. I specified the tire size,but the chains I received need work to make them fit.I called and they insisted that they were the proper size for the tire. They were too long and in my opinion slightly too wide. There is very little clearance on the inside of the tire. While using the back blade at an angle the three point shifted enough to catch on the chain. Probably less than half an inch. I am thinking I will need some spacers on the axle before I try them again.

Thanks for update, I have not bought mine yet. I have the industrial tires. I will be checking today to a local shop. Just thought I'd give a site link for the chains.

If you get chains that get a hand full of repair monkey links and plenty of those rubber chain tighteners with the 'S' hooks on both end. You have to keep the chains tight...and they will stretch in time.

I was just researching this as well - One suggestion made was to get a 2 LINK chain and not the 4 link or a Duo grip (4 link with a connector in the middle).. 2 link wont fall between the tread, offer a better ride, and wont tear up asphalt (like the duo grip)
I was originally looking at the duo grip but read some comments on different tractor forum and they rode really rough..

There is a lot of "misinformation' about tire chains for tractors. What is applicable for one may have nothing to do with another. Some generalities are: If you have any type of lug, loose ladder type chains are better for traction. No tensioners are needed. Keep them loose and "falling between the lugs" is of no consequence as when the chain begins to bottom out as the tire rotates, the loose chain is the first thing to make contact. If you have turfs, tight is better. The larger your lugs, the thicker the tire chain should be. Any tire chain is better than none as far as traction goes....much better. The smoothest ride with chains is the chains with the most amount of chain to ground contact.
