Max26 vs Max28

I see what you mean by possibly not needing the thumb if you can pin it against the center tree with those serrations and the bucket.

Did Mahindra simply just do away with the Max 28XL? I know they list them on the site and they are about $1000 cheaper but when you go to build one they only allow you to choose from the 26XL's

That QA is very nice.

I need to Fab a cupholder! Nice that they put one on the max26, but talk about an after thought!!!

Seat look identical to My max Manf. date 6/13

Just what happened to your Max28??

2013 was official last of the Max28XL. I found a leftover Dec 2014. You could count on your one hand what may be left in inventory.

The 26 is the same thing as the 28, just rated lower (at a lower rpm). The same engine is said to be in the max 25 as well if that's still around. (and a few other tractors as well)

My max28 was stolen from the dealer in May (it was in for service, couple little things flaked out all at once), I wasn't on the market for a new one as mine only had 112 hours on it or something like that.

What is it that makes you glad you don't have a Tier 4 Tractor? Do they have cooties or something?

if you define all the stuff that's added to it to 'fix' the pollution, and the added costs of maint and the added cost of buying, and the associated problems that so many people are reporting, as 'cooties', then yes. They have cooties.

The Mahindra is the only final Tier 4 that I would consider at this time.

Mahindra is the only tractor without a particular filter

Understood. Supposedly these engines don't have the heat/particulate filter issues but who knows. I've found owning equipment is never cheap no matter when you buy them so I guess all of my stuff has cooties to some extent.

A good maintenance routine could save some money on equipment grease keeping it clean and dry sure helps quite a bit

A few thoughts about the max26 after driving it around my property for a little bit and playing with all the built-ins (no 3pt action yet, too late to drop the hoe off and go tear up the yard somewhere)

loader feels like it operates faster and smoother at higher engine speeds. Hoe works the same, no surprises there. the lift is still jerky at speed, but curl and extend are smooth. the braces are the braces. Picked the rear end up off the ground and tested the locker (something that I don't believe ever worked on mine, due to adjustment I'm sure, or operator error), works as expected, neat-o. turning the seat around, was a major bummer on the evening. I've got a separate thread for that though, hopefully that's just something that needs to be adjusted and greased up.

My Mahindra is the eMax 22, so a little smaller than the conversation here is talking about, and I was a bit leery of the Tier IV too, but after having it for over a year I'm well pleased. A little smoke on start up is it, no smelly exhaust. There's very little fumes when I am operating it in the barn, which is the reason I went small size. This is the Daedong 3 cyl. engine. When mowing pasture all I get is exhaust heat, no diesel smell.
