I have 3 hours on tractor. It has the swivel seat with backhoe. The dash lights and glow plug work but no attempt to start when key turned to start. I noticed the seat safety wire had been crimped in the seat. I do not have a mid-PTO but could that crimped wire be stopping the tractor from starting?

Sounds like a safety switch that "might" be impacted by that wire. Make sure clutch or brake is in, PTOs are off, you are sitting on seat. (Pressure switch that I over rode eventually...) Short of all that it may be the wire. Just resplice or jump across it to test. (But don't forget about that darn seat safety switch!) Good luck!

Hi.
I had a similar problem with my 28XL a few times and have found the following:
•The seat switch can get crimped moving it to the backhoe position and back over and over...I eventually overrode mine
•Mine is a hydro and that switch needs to be in absolutely in the middle...a little forward or a little in reverse and it's a no go
•Finally, the last time was the most frustrating...took me over an hour before I realized that getting off and on I had bumped the rear mount PTO lever and it was ever so slightly engaged. This one had me cursing and getting my test lamp out to check fuses.
Aside from the above, you would check your fuses and make sure your clutch and brake pedal switches are in fact being triggered.

Good luck.

Check your ETR solenoid fuse. I had this same problem as have many others. Go to the Mahindra owning/operating forum and you will find multiple threads on this problem.

ya prob the safety switch...
had the same prob on my max 26... only 15 hrs on it and it wouldn't start... noticed the crimped wire
had the safety switch jumped out and the prob went away...

you will keep blowing the ETR solenoid fuse when the safety switch wire is compromised

Is the problem with the "premium" Backhoe Seat only? I have the Max28 TL, not TLB. When I retrofitted my seat with my old Kubota's seat suspension, I took extra care in routing and securing the Seat wiring, and with 176 hour no issues related to seat switch.
If it does not crank, most likely the seat switch.

I've had just about all of the above at one time or another. The problem I had today was one of the PTO switches had actually came loose and fallen out of place. Unfortunately from dealing with no-starting issues, I've learned where all the safety switches are on these machines are, LOL.

Maybe you don't weigh enough. Ask your wife to sit on the seat after explaining to her why .................

the pto leaver on mine is the most frequent culprit. I've just gotten in a habbit of holding it tight when I crank the tractor. I need to adjust it.

I hate the swivel seats it makes no sense to have one on a tractor you have to get off it to swivel in the first place

its usually the culprit of split safety wires leading to no cranks like your experiencing

My 2014 Max 26XL (400 hours) was working fine all day long and then all of a sudden it turned off. The panel and glow plug lights up when I turn the key, but nothing. I checked the fuses and my ETR solenoid fuse keeps blowing. I looked under the seat for any damaged or crimped wires, but couldn't find anything. The wire sheathing was slightly nicked in a few places, so I removed it from the safety switch to the connector. No obvious damage on either of the two wires. I do use the backhoe and the seats gets swiveled quite often. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
