Hello everyone!

I am constructing a 3pt hitch for an implement and was wondering if there is a limit on how far apart should lower and upper link holes be? Take a look at the image from the side:

My current setup has 16" (40cm) vertical distance and 6 1/2" (around 16cm) horizontal distance. Would that do for most tractors of cat. 1 and 2?

One source shows 18" for the CAT1 and 19" for CAT2 as standard. Probably other info at other places though. One thing to consider is how the spacing will affect the way the implement behaves when lifting it.

Try and match your tractor and the closer your can the load well stay leveler. If you get it to high it could hit the back of the tractor and the load would be tilted fwd and the lower link arm are not all the way up. I made all my stuff at 16".

Why do you have the horizontal offset?

I won't work with a Quick Hitch:

I think most are in the same vertical plane:

When you build something, why not make it to standard dimensions? Even if you don't use a quick hitch now, you might someday.
