Buying Advice May have missed 50hr servicing... concerns? buy?

Unless the fluids smell burned I would't sweat it. My "no maintenace" neighbor changes his oil every few years, has never changed the hydraulic fluid and only greases it when something starts making noise. He got it 14 years ago and the little Yanmar keeps running.

I wish I had that kind of luck! Usually the more maintainance I do to something the more it tears up.

I wouldn't worry for stuff with low hours on it......if anything, it'a a sign that nothing has been NEEDED to be serviced / repaired.
In the equipment I deal with, I often see spin-on filters with original factory paint on them and hydraulic system filter canisters that have never seen a wrench on stuff that's many, many years old....I have 2002 Cummins power unit getting it's first set of fuel filters today.....I guess they where too hard to match up for them......At least they (the owner / customer) did change oil at least once at some point:confused2:

Thanks to all for the feedback so far. I'll be driving out to test it tomorrow (Weds). The low hours make me feel somewhat confident about it too... but I've read so many posts about "that 50-hr service is the most important one", that it had me thinking. In the end, if it gets that service at 125 hours, it's likely all fine. :thumbsup:

I'll also be checking as much as I can about what has been changed... looking for stickers on the filters and looking at/smelling fluids to get an idea about those. :licking: :confused2: :drool: (Don't taste them!) :laughing:

i would not worry if the last owner did the complete service on it before 125hrs.if you want it buy it an do the complete service yourself.my tractor has 110hrs on it an i need todo the complete service but havent because of time an the weather.but im not in a panic about it.
