McCormick tractors

In 2002 Branson and Cummins formed a partnership to design, manufacture and market diesels from 20 -65 horsepower for use in many types of equipment, such as the Branson line of tractors.

Hold up for a minute, this thread has become super confusing. McCormick is owned by Argo which also owns Landini, Valpadana, Laverda, Fella, etc.

Agco own Massey, Hesston, New Idea, White, Valtra, etc.

and of course New Holland/CaseIH is the same.

Kioti have NOTHING to do with McCormick. McCormicks similarity to Case is because they were owned and built side by side with case machines in the UK.

As far as LG/LS: LS Tractors - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So when when comments such as XXXX is just like XXXX are they being used for comparison sake or because there is trying to be a link made between the two?

So the mccormics are just like montanas? Just like case is same as NH.

Does the mccormick compare to a kioti more than the case? Is the the case a top of the line tractor and kioti and mccormick a close second? I am not looking at prices here. I jst want to see how they line up and will compare price to quality/features later.

Thanks

YES, "COMPARE", thats what I said. Trying to somewhat compare apples to apples, not apples to oranges. Thats why I asked if a mccormick would "compare" to a kioti. NOT, are they the same tractor.

I did ask if mccormick and montana are really the same tractor though

I think it's tough to say without pointing out two specific models. Kioti is "compared" to Kubota all the time as far as performance. On the other time I have never seen McCormick compared to much of anything except the larger Case/MF/NH tractors. On name brand/recognition I'd say Kioti and McCormick still bring up the rear, any other words are on the lower tier.

I would list out the specs of the specific compacts, McCormick vs. Kioti and then it would be easier for people to weigh in.

McCormick and Montana

McCormick Montana
CT28 = 2844
CT28H= 2844hst
CT36 = 3644
CT36 H= 3644hst
CT41 = 4344
CT41H = 4344hst
CT47 = 4944
CT49H = 4944hst

McCormick 105 loader and backhoes are same as Montana both manufactured by Amerequip.

I also have McCormick CX series tractors as well as McCormick MC series tractors. The CT series are manufactured by LS/LG and LS/LG tractors have a strong proven track record here in the US.

The Mitsubishi engine in the CT's is smooth and powerful and they come with so many standard features.

I like the looks of the McCormick and they are offering 0 down and 0% for 60months so the financing is excellent.

McCormick tractors like so many other manufacturers are different in different classes. SOme are Landini's, some are McCormick, some are LS but all are very good.

Kioti (Daedong is Kioti) and Bobcat are Daedong
Case and NH are Shibaura
Cat Challenger, Massey and Agco are Iseki
McCormick and Montana are LS
TYM Mahindra (10 series 3510 and 4110 and cab tractors are TYM), Montana 70hp cab and 23 and 27hp are TYM and Mahindra 15 series are Mitsubishi
JD and Cub Cadet are Yanmar so many of these tractors are similar from same manufacturer if not identical in quit a few cases.

I know that the LS tractors castings are cast steel and the front ends are strong. Once you get to the CT41 and CT47 the front end size is very large. I believe it ios the same front end as the old Montana 3040, 3840 and 4540 which have been bullet proof. The CT28 and CT36 models are the same and over the years I have sold the LS have seen only two front end problems.

One is a logger with a 4540 with 946 hours who chained up his front and rear tires with Trygg chains and worked it on hard ground and the other got a heavy load on a 2740 on the loader and got the front end down in a hole and did some damage but other than that they have been extremely reliable under loads and heavy use.

If you like the McCormick, the dealer, the price and the financing then go for it as you won't be sorry.

All brands listed above are good and anyone is a good choice so pick one based on comfort with dealer, comfort in the seat, financing options and that will do the job you want.

McCormick is making huge inroads in the market with the larger tractors as I know lots of Case dealers are taking them on.

McCormick is really making strong moves in ag as well as the cut market.

That might explain why Case is reviving the Farmall part of their name in recent ads. If the old line ag names are a selling point, why not use what you have?

I had thought it was because Case and NH were splitting their parts of the market with one going big and the other going small.

I went to my local Case/IH dealer looking for CUT's and was told they (the dealer) was getting out of the CUT business to focus on Ag. Too bad as I previously had a NH TC35DA, and would have gone Case, especially with the 0%/60.

Having just sold a 98 Cub Cadet 7000 and having just purchased a new 2008 R2844HST Montana I found this thread very interesting. I knew that Montana and McCormick were virtually identical tractors and not having a McCormick dealer nearby we went with Montana. We had researched brands and specs for nearly a year prior to buying and we are VERY pleased with the Montana. Power/weight/price and lifting capacities put the Montana at or near the top in every category. They have a 0% for 48 and a points up front for 60 months that is fantastic. This little tractor has generated a lot of interest in the neighborhood and I would certainly recommend the Montana line to anyone who is interested in listening. Thanks for letting me get in my two cents.

Awesome info...that why I like these boards. I have heard of montana before but never knew of any dealer around. The case/ih dealer just started carring the mccormick line.

Check with them, just because they might stop selling them doesn't mean they will stop servicing them if you would have a problem. I know the local case dealer just ordered in a new dx45 hst for the local gamefarm, and it arrived this week. He told me nothing about case getting out of the cuts.
