Mcormick starting issues

Sounds like you got it going. That is good news. I have seen a combination of cold and fuel leave diesel engines stalled in both tractors and semis over the years. I sometimes don't get it. Your running and it's 5 below zero Fahrenheit and the next day it's 10 degrees Fahrenheit and you have trouble. Yours is newer, so you probably need a certain amount battery to get the relays and solenoid to work. My old allis Chalmers doesn't have any of that. It even has a mechanical shut off to turn engine off. No electricity required to keep it going. Just need electricity for the starter and lights. Now, my massey, it is about 10 yrs old and kind of intimidating. The engineers decided to get cute and creative and add all these whizzos. If it starts really starts screwing up, I'll be in over my head pretty quick. One thing you can do if you are expeciting a big cold spell and you got a line on some kerosene, is to mix some kerosene with you fuel. As cold as you get running a 50/50 mix may be about right. I guess the thing to remember is diesel engines and cold weather can cause problems. No matter who you are, and how long you have run them, and how good of luck.you have; sooner or later it gets all of us now and then. When we had 15 below, there was a house fire in our community. Two fire trucks gelled up trying to get to the fire. Lucky we have "mutual aid and assist" and trucks from a different fire department responded. So it can happen to anybody.
