Well, the TPH control jabbed me in the back of the knee once too often yesterday, so I decided I was going to shorten it.
I got out my grinder and used a cut off wheel to take about 4" off that sucker, leaving just enough for the know to protrude.
Anyway, long story short. It turns out that it protruded more in the foreward (TPH down) position than it does in the rearward (TPH up) position.
Meaning I had cut it about 2" shorter than I should have. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Fortunately, the MIG welder was fueled and ready ... but I did feel like an idiot until I had successfully reattached the appendage, ground down the weld, etc..
I guess I shouldn't have been in such a hurry
