Well, the TPH control jabbed me in the back of the knee once too often yesterday, so I decided I was going to shorten it.

I got out my grinder and used a cut off wheel to take about 4" off that sucker, leaving just enough for the know to protrude.

Anyway, long story short. It turns out that it protruded more in the foreward (TPH down) position than it does in the rearward (TPH up) position.

Meaning I had cut it about 2" shorter than I should have. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Fortunately, the MIG welder was fueled and ready ... but I did feel like an idiot until I had successfully reattached the appendage, ground down the weld, etc..

I guess I shouldn't have been in such a hurry

I could see myself doing that, getting in a hurry and wanting the darn thing to stop poking me!

EGON: where did you get that board streacher, it seems I need one about every other cut! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif SURE would come in handy, /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I KNOW Ive cut a bord 3 or 4 times only for it to STILL be too short before! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I have one of the fancy metal strechers, refered to up top for when I cut to much of the metal too /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif which happens too often...
