Mechron's are on the way

I had a look at one at my local dealer this week. They are big. Bigger than I anticipated. And aggressive looking. Hard for me to justify but great for somebody having a big acreage and wanting more utility than an ATV offers.

Seen one at the Louisville Farm Machinery Show. Kioti had an awsome display. The Mechrons are big!:D Looks like you could seat 4 across.

If anyone that is over 6'3" sits in one please let me know how much distance between your knees and the dash. After sitting in a Kubota RVT1100 I found I only had 1/2 inch of space for my left knee. I'm 6'4".

I am just a hair under 6'3" and my legs were fine but my concern is my head on the roll cage. Every one of these RTV's seems to put taller folks at risk of whacking their noggin on the roll bars. I would be concerned. The RTV's were no better.

At the recent Ag Expo i got to see a lot of the UTV's. It boiled down to Kioti and the Deere diesel. The Deere is way more refined and more money. But they look really close on utility. I'd sure like to see a shoot out of the two vehicles.

One minor issue I noticed with the Mechron: The cargo bed. It looks to be HD metal and that is good. The Deere has metal on the working surfaces too; and add a configurable bed from having sides to a flatbed ($$). However, on the Mechron, they had the bed raised while it sat on display. I saw rust streaks running from the front of the bed wall all down the bed surface; which was painted black and seemed to be plate. Apparently-they scrimped on painting the flooring underside, or the cab wall joint area or something. When the Mechron was washed, or from dew collecting on it while sitting out-enough water got to some unprotected iron/steel to cause these rusty streaks. That just does not seem right on a brand new vehicle. It is just not refined. Looks **** for stout though.

The Deere looked better overall- especially if you got the glass winshield option that comes with the HD ROPS. That particular rops comes with an integral , crush resistant metal roof (think construction site safety demands) and it is way more rounded and ergo that the standard ROPS or the Mechron Rops.

I'd probably go for the Kioti if I knew it was on par with the Deere functionally. Don't care how fast it goes. Not in it for speed. This means I'm not pulling the trigger any time soon.

I saw the model 2200 this week at a Kioti dealer while looking at used tractors and was impressed. Are these the only diesel UTV out with four wheel independent suspension? Looked like a Polaris cousin with the wide seat and transmission but the dealer said it was Kioti ground up.
