Since I wasn't born until 1940, I don't recall hearing of Rudolph until a local boy named Gene Autry recorded the song in 1949. But yes, we definitely shopped at Monkey Wards.

Bird, you are only a few years older than I. We grew up with role models like Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and the Lone Ranger. The world is not a better place with role models like Brittney Spears, Eminem, and Kobe Bryant.
