Sorry ... I didn't mean to give the impression I don't like his humour, I do .... I just find he goes overboard on the socialist rants. I wouldn't think so, on the other hand, if I saw him making huge donations to the Salvation Army or some other charity after each of his concerts. LOL
There's very little humour I don't like .... the wife and I just hurt our sides laughing at a video tape of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour video my brother lent me: Larry the Cable Guy, Ron (somebody), Jeff Foxtworthy and (darn ... my minds gone blank - the "here's your sign" guy). Hilarious!
I watch Dennis Miller to balance George Carlin ... right wing rants vs left wing rants. I try to check my politics at the door when it comes to comics ... as long as they're funny instead of just obnoxious (like Al Franken).

Dennis Miller is a touch too "smart a$$" for my wife....(I need to sometimes see things her way like when I feel I need some more attachments for the JD4400...{grin})There is a lot of ways to make us all re-assess our value systems...
THEY ALL SERVE a good purpose...

My wife sometimes gets a chuckle out of Dennis' diatribes ... but both she and I found that his profanity got old very quickly. I do enjoy his rants as he's pretty cerebral and it can be amusing trying to "get it" at times. I guess that would be the "smart a$$ stuff, huh?
We both enjoy comedy ... but it seems as though most comedians today have a hard time being funny without profanity ... and usually offensive and excessive profanity.
If you can't be funny without toilet humor ... maybe you're not really a comic ... just my view.
I don't like Bill Cosby's politics at all ... but I still enjoy listening to all the old 33's of his in my collection - not a profane word in them, just good laughs .... I'm just about to rip all the comedy tracks and burn them to a CD for my next motorcycle trip ....
