As to the box on top of the cylinder, yes it is a check valve. There is a potential safety problem with simply taking a hydraulic cylinder, welding the correct ends on it and using it as a toplink. In the event of a hydraulic line failure, the cylinder could be free to extend, possibly lowering the back of the implement unexpectedly. The check valve locks the cylinder in this event. The cost isn't that great, but it makes all the dfference from a safety standpoint.

I just spoke to Pieter on the phone, and he told me you guys talked them into making a 52" rotary cutter. I was wondering how you managed to convince him, but then he mentioned that in the last 10 days he's sold something like 600 pieces of equipment! That must be 100 tons of steel. I think we've got him working around the clock designing, building and shipping equipment. In fact when I called him on Saturday, he warned me that he was taking this Sunday off to celebrate his 36th wedding anniversary.
