I am using a carbide tipped metal cutting blade in a regular skilsaw for a lot of my cutting.
One of the blades made for this is a "Morse Metal Devil" or something like that. Kind of pricey at around $50 but they cut a long time. Harbor Junk has one also that I have used. They are about $20, and I cut many feet of 11 gauge steel (approx. 1/8") that cut like plywood. I also made quite a few crosscuts on 4" channel iron 1/4" thick. You can cut thicker material too. They dull eventually and start to take a lot of power to go through stuff. They also don't really like cutting welds. This dulls them faster than regular steel. I would like to have a Dedicated hand held saw like the Evolution, but this works better than I imagined. Try it and you will be surprised! I also use a Makita abrasive chopsaw for cutting anything that will fit in it. Great saw , but it likes to trip a 20 amp breaker on startup just often enough to be a real nuisance. A friend just bought a dewalt with soft start that avoids this.
