metal garage / barn

I ended up just hiring a local pole barn company and drew up my own designs. They made it for 60# snow loads with engineer....were very happy. We have 2 other marching buildings on the property.

In your last picture, above the big doors on the "back right hand side of your buielding", could you explane the roof desine! There is something there I'm not used to seeing! Thanks

My guess is it would be to stop the snow from sliding off on your head where the doors are located??

In New York... Fingerlakes Construction is worth a look. They are becoming very popular and appear to be major competition for Morton.

Fingerlakes Construction Co., Inc - Post Frame and Metal Frame Buildings

Thank you for the tip. I just sent them an information request. I'd sure rather give a company that wants my business rather than one that depends upon their reputation. They have an office in Schenectady too so I'm sure that they would have no problem building on my property (~25 miles from Schenectady).

Where are you located? I had excellent results by having a local Amish builder build a pole/metal bldg. Price was 1000's less and they did a great job and over built it !
I live in Thurmont, MD.

Thanks for some of the advice. I'm not sure if any Amish would travel down from PA. Im new to the area, so I dont know if any are close by, or of any other companies in the area.

May be worth asking around (they don't advertise a whole lot). The guys that did ours (In WV) were over 1.5hrs away (Ohio) and had it built in 3 days. I was surprised and pleased with how fast they did it and what a good job they did.

Howdy Neighbor.

Pioneer Pole Buildings build a lot in the area. I would have used them if I hadn't built mine myself. If you build yourself, check out APM in ardentsville, they have barn packages. They also have some builders they work with.

If you can get connected with some of them, I'm sure they'll work in this area. Do some research to the north - don't waste time talking to people south of you as that is getting to "suburban".

We ended up getting a local contractor who works Gettysburg to Frederick area to do the barn at my brothers place, just a stones throw north of you....unfortunately I would NOT recommend the guy as he was unreliable (too many sunny days he and his crew where a no-show even as the project was getting late) and he tried to add-on extra costs we speficly put in the contract where his problem.....
