Amen to that Neil

I've never lacked HP for mowing or hauling an FEL full of material on my BX23.
I HAVE lacked for hydraulic power when trying to do multifunctions (feathering the controls) with the FEL and BH. There are certain functions when done simultainiously that'll bring the whole show to a stop.......
Seems my skill level must have improved :D
I'll take more hydraulic GPM over engine hp anyday.....

Oppp's, I just may be talking myself into one of those new "B"'s, and no doubt thats what Kubota wants....
Course, with finish mowing being my primary usage, my BX23 is still a mighty fine machine. With my rough and tumble former pasture that I like to refer to as a, -ahem- back lawn, constituting the majority of my finish mowing, a suspended mower is almost a necessity.....

Okay :).

New Holland is coming out with a still larger model now, 28Hp I think. Its the HP race that annoys me. While these tractors maybe generating more HP, its likely that they have less torque which really translates into nothing for most real tractor applications.

Ahhh, now stated in those specific terms, I can appreciate your opinion.

I surely hear you regarding more hydraulic power. I wouldn't mind higher hydraulic pressure to life heavier rocks with the FEL and dig in durapan with a BH. If the BX had a lower range, I could load it up with weight and more easily rip adobe and durapan with my subsoiler. Guess we're both talking ourselves into a "B" series. If I could just talk the CFO into it!!!!!!!! :D

All this talk about horsepower and gpm and not much talk about weight. My BX24 R4 tires spin, even with a decent implement hanging off the 3ph, way before I lack horsepower. I'm having the tires filled before the snow flies and will see how that helps (tires are kind of small to add that much weight though...does anyone know how many lbs per filled back tire?). Wheel weights would be next and I wouldn't be surprised if I keep the extra weight on next Spring. The weight limitation has me looking at B series and maybe even B26 TLB for next year.

Sounds to me like you need a B-series. Thats one thing that you need to watch when making suggestions about what could be improved, many of those things are the B-series tractors. The price difference is 1500-1800. Increasing the cost of the sub compacts starts to push them up into the price range of their bigger brothers.

Right on target. I'm thinking about a cabbed B3030 or even L3540. Would also consider B26 if a cab is in that model's future.

All this talk makes me think of cars and the odd way they grow.

Used to be that the Honda Accord was the size of what would be considered a sub-compact today. Progressive "improvements" have taken that car to a full-fledged full-size vehicle. To improve something, you make it bigger. The Civic is now larger than what any early Accord was. Ditto Camry. Ditto most anything...larger is better.

Interesting thing when this applied to the relatively glacial pace that tractors improve. A "hot" and improving model like the BX bumps its head on the B. Then you'll need yet another tractor to fill the gap in the smaller size.

Drop the BX1500 and add the BX26? See what I'm saying?

I predict that in a number of years the BX line will be re-expanded smaller to cover the lost BX1500 or yet another line of tractors will be introduced to fill that gap. We'll have the AX1450 (14 HP) and AX1850 (18HP) oddly capable of what the BX1500 was capable of.

Anyone dare to bet me?

The GR fits there! Just no loader or backhoe.
