Methods for cleaning batwing mower after each use

I have used a rake, broom and backpack blower to clean the grass clippings off my 15' batwing cutter after I mow with it. Each method has drawbacks. I do not have water at my barn to use a pressure washer. Anybody have a better method they use on cleaning their deck after mowing?

Long air blower or leaf blower is what we use.

A blower is the easiest way I have found, but it makes one heck of a dust storm around the mower when it is dry.

Not a batwing, but a 7' brush hog.

I raise it all the way up and shake it a little so the big sticks fall off.

Then park it like this and use a broom. :thumbsup:

I just blow off various wing mowers that I have with compressed air. On my Cushman, I blow out the rad, oil cooler and engine compartment as well. This suffices and keeps those nasty organic juices from eating your decks. At the end of the season, I pressure wash or steam clean equipment and put to bed. Grease them and run them a little in case water got into bearings.

The only exception is, if I got rained on or got into swampy/muddly areas and then usually just pressure wash the machine and blow it off with compressed air.

Nothing irritates me more then seeing someones grass cutting machine covered in old grass, especially parked over the winter!

I have a leaf hog,I usually use the blower attachment but I guess you could use the vac attachment and suck it all up.

I bought the smooth deck design and that makes cleaning really easy

I like an electric blower for my "hog" and mower deck. much lighter and easier to start.
