Yes. If you look at the male fitting, which is usually welded to a pipe or pipe elbow, you will see the groove for an O-ring.
A close-up view of your pic reveals the placement of that ambiguous opaque washer. It goes in between the nut and ferrule.

The Swedish importers of Chinese tractors (Jinma & Foton) and backhoes (Shandong Sunco LW-6/7/8 BH) hasn't done a very good job of supplying specific parts for their merchandise. However to their credits, the importers do stock and supply direct hose replacements as spare parts, but specifically the Chinese metric flat seal hydraulic press fittings they haven't been able to stock so far. I don't know the situation with the importers and distributors on other continents, but the European situation certainly needs to be improved.
My hunt for these press fittings was however succesful, when finding a Swedish vendor actually manufacturing and sourcing these. So for a Swedish or European customer, it's today simply to pick up the phone and place your order with SPECMA HYDRAULIC! That's what I recently did, having the ordered parts in my mailbox the very next day, see the photo here above.

A Chinese/Brittish mix
A custom made hydraulic hose, with Chinese Metric fitting for connecting to the hydraulic cylinder, while with BSP threads on the 90 degree angled fitting for the valve block connection. The valve block adapter has been replaced accordingly, changed from Metric to Brittish Standard Pipe.
-Why the mix?
-Because we still couldn't get hold of the 90 degree angle, metric M16, flat seal press fitting!
