MF 1100 & 165

Hi, I am looking at a MF 1100 tractor with cab, 95HP, for $4,900. I am also looking at a 165 at local dealer, which is little rough, the web site says call for special pricing on the 165. So i was wandering what a good price would be? Also was wandering if there are any known problems with either tractor.

I think they are gona want about 45 for the 165 also. 4500 for the 1100 is a real good price if every thing works. either was a good tractor,somtimes the dual power will go out but you still can operate the tractor.just don't have the spliter gears, similar to the tourque amplifier in the IH,not a big deal, If they even have that option.

I haven't seen it up close, but looks good in photo. The 165 i think they wanted $4,500 for it but couldn't sell it cause it has a few minor problems, so they are lowering price.

Both are good solid tractors. If you need the size and hp of the 1100 then the deal sounds good if the tractor passes inspection. If the 165 is in that bad of shape,look around for another one. Plenty of them out there.

Having the Square rear axle is a indication of being made in the early seventies--the round axles could be from mid sixties era--If the either has Multipower and it is out or going out--I would pass at any price--they will freewheel and not hold a load back when this is not functioning--Very dangerous--Ken Sweet
