MF 1250

   / MF 1250 #21
I have had a MF 1250 with a Woods FEL since 1996. The tractor is a POS. The main issues with mine is the electrical wiring. I finally got AGCO to replace the entire wiring harness even though it was past warranty. (2003). After I wrote them an email of all the faulty parts, repairs , failures, etc. I guess they took pity on a loyal customer. I started my tractor use with a used MF 255 w FEL. It needed some repairs but not anything like the 1250.

I had to replace the alternator, starter, bolts on the FEL broke twice and they did again, the ignition switch broke and pulled out from the dash, headlights failed, the 4WD is stuck in gear & wont shift, engine wouldn't start because of fuses, the engine wouldn't stop because of fuses, fuel system became plugged several times with jelly. and the list goes on.

The local dealer was a nice guy but he couldn't get any support from MF. He finally sold all his inventory at auction and went out of business. I seriously regret buying that tractor.

Frankly I should have bought a Ford or Kubota but the wife wanted a smaller tractor than the 255 therefore we ended up with the 1250. I'm always running into issues of not enough HP.

Careful, someone will accuse you of bashing agco (lol). I got a mf 1531 and it is a real work of art. I 've spent 1000's in repairs. 4 wheel drive shelled 3 different times. (Agco finally admitted the have a weak front end) pto shelled twice, three point arms have screwed up three different times, the bucket developed stress cracks everywhere, the tractor won't start in cold weather (agco said I needed to put a block heater on it; agco knows it's a problem they need to put the block heater on it. Seen post on here with guys having similar problems out of the 1500 series. Agco won't stand behind their product. I don't have much good to say about agco. Oh yeah, the steering cylinder literally broke. The cylinder by itself was almost 800 dollars. People accuse me of bashing agco, but it is what it is. I understand your frustration very well.
