Since someone asked above, I would say it takes 5-10 minutes to leak down once I shut it off. When I start her up it pops right back up to where it was.

I have the same tractor and problem. The guy I purchased it from was using some thick gear oil in the case, I flushed it, cleaned it and then refilled with the proper hydrolic fluid. All was fixed.

never rely ont he previous owner to have known anything about a machine you buy from them. I always do a full service on all tractors.. just so I know what is what.
many people maintain equipment like it is rented.. put the wrong oil in.. then complain it does not work.. and sell it.
