I'm surprised that the vendor your dealing with doesn't use the AGCO parts book. The snippet I posted has the part number to the right highlighted in red. AGCO makes that site available to nearly all. Some countries are blocked for some reason. But the site is an enormous help when needing parts. You can lookup the steering column section for your tractor there and see what I was speaking of on the spring. The site may not tell you how to disassemble and reassemble but it will show all the parts by looking at different levels of assembly. The AGCO site has helped me tremendously identifying parts and part numbers. Some parts are not made. Then you set out on a quest contacting several MF bone yards throughout the country. I've located several hens teeth for mine this way. That shaft cover and spring should be able to locate a used one at a salvage yard. I've bought several items from Tractor Parts ASAP which has several salvage yards in the states. Part of the fun in restoring one of these treasures is the hunt for parts. :smile: -kid

Let me know, I have access to some parts that we have sitting in a bin. Our grills have been retrofitted over the years, let me know the part (or send a pic) and I would be glad to look.

Grill and door. found a replacement from tractorbarn.com, have you dealt with them?

Murph if I had it to do over again, i would only use "used" sheet metal parts. Period. Reproductions are nice but I haven't found any that fit right. you have to rebend, drill new holes, anything but direct fit. my nosecone had severe rust through and the front grill was badly patched and damaged. buying a new hood is not always as it seems. there are two types. Perkins and Continental one opens on the left, and one on the right. it makes a difference when buying new replacement parts and side pieces.

Perkins parts are easier to find. I have a door that's in pretty good shape I'll give you for shipping. When I get a change i'll take some pictures.

Yes I have. The guy sold me a Perkins hood when I was wanting a Continental one.

I checked and we only have "fabricated" doors and grills. I have to buy one myself after I fix my many problems, that I refer to as opportunities! Hahahaha.

Today, I thought I was being smart and I pulled the throttle adjuster from a diesel dash I found and thought it would be the same as my continental. Thanks to the kid, when I arrived home I double checked the throttle with the AGCO parts manual. It was not a match according to the book and it was different than the partial rehab throttle I currently have for the gas. I am attaching a picture of my rehab throttle and the longer diesel throttle. It looks like the gas throttle is shorter? But I am not sure if it is suppose to be? It appears the throttle broke at one point in time. If you could take a look at let me know what you think..... I would greatly appreciate it. I can tell at some point, the bottom piece on the gas throttle was welded on (by someone) and a hose clamp was used as a spacer? I can tell you that the rehab throttle worked before it was removed. I would like to fix it correctly or buy the parts. It is missing quite a few parts, and I may have do some research to find a new assembly.
