MF 135 power steering kit

They have these on ebay for around $500, I am wondering how hard they are to install on tractor w/out power steering (found a good tractor w/out ps) or if I'm better off buying one with ps already. Thanks

I just purchased a Massey 135 (diesel engine) without power steering. When I took the tractor for a test drive, I knew immediatley I needed power steering since my first two tractors had it and I was somewhat spoiled. I ordered the power steering kit off Ebay and it arrived before I even picked up the tractor. Paid $530.

This kit was apparently manufactured in Turkey. It looks very well built and heavier duty than what I expected. However, the installation instructions arer so vague and information is lost through translation that I can't even figure out where to mount the main anchor of the system (lift connection flange to the engine block). Other than this, it looks pretty cut and dry.

So here I am, a new member of this site, hoping someone will come through with some better information on how to install this thing.

I took a look at that eBay PS unit for the 135 on their website. It's a lot better PS system than the factory unit like the one on my 1964 MF135 diesel which is installed in the steering column (it's more of a power steering assist than a true power steering setup like the one you have). It looks like a Tisco product, so maybe you should contact them.

One of these three companies apparently got the diesel engine kit mixed up with the gas engine kit.

It appears the main attaching bracket is different between gas and diesel. Now they want me to build my own instead of them just sending me one.

Did you pay with paypal? You should be able to get a refund once you return the product.

That sucks. But, if it were me, I'd just bite the bullet and fabricate the bracket myself or have it done at your local weld shop. Can't be much of a job to make a single bracket.

Since the original power steering kit manufactured by HPS (Hydraulic Power Steering) would no way, no how fit my MF 135 with the diesel engine, I ended up sending it back and they sent me one manufactured by A&I (Agricultural and Industrial Products). I believe both companies are located in Turkey. It appears the one from A&I will fit and work fine. There's a little more welding involved than I anticipated, but I have a source for the welding. It also appears to be a bit more robust than the kit from HPS. I'm just waiting for the weather to break before diving into this project (it's cold here in Michigan).
