Oil & Fuel MF 135 Tractor Dies on Throttle. Need Help!

Zenith kits are sold on eBay for around $25. Sounds like to found two big fuel delivery problems that will probably fix your delima.

I appreciate everyone's help. I ended up purchasing a new carb, mostly out of my lack of experience and wanting to not bite off too much and get myself into trouble. Put the new carb on without too much fuss, replaced some of the fuel line and the inline fuel filter (Got a see through one so I could monitor the fuel), flushed the tank and filtered out the gunk, and I replaced the sediment bowl and shutoff valve mechanism. I am still leaking just a bit at the sediment bowl, can't tell if it coming from the sediment bowl where it meets the gasket or out of the fuel line. I will continue to monitor that, all other fuel leaks seem to be fixed. Most importantly I just started it up and it ran for 15 minutes without dying!

Come snow! I am ready!

Doing this little job, makes me want to tear into this baby a bit more and fix some other little things here and there. I think I will resist for a while.

I have a MF 135. I am having an issue where the tractor starts and runs fine for a minute or two and then it just idles down until it dies. If I back off the throttle then it will continue to idle and sort of sputter. However, if I try to give it any throttle at all it dies.

If I then immediately restart the tractor then it will start, but if I give it any throttle it dies.

If I let it sit for a bit and then start the tractor it starts up and I give it gas and it will take it for a bit, and then throttles down and dies like before.

This started happening after a plug wire came out of the distributor cap while I was bush hogging.

I replaced all the plug wires and plugs at that time and that didn't fix the issue.

I then replaced the distributor cap and that did fix the issue.

Again I was bush hogging and a plug wire came out and replacing the distributor cap again fixed the problem.

Now it is doing it again, but I don't believe the plug wire came out this time. I replaced the distributor cap and that didn't solve the problem this time.

The carb is leaking gas pretty heavily, so I need to rebuild it, but I don't know if that is just a secondary problem or the root of the problem.

I appreciate any help someone can give me in figuring out how to solve this. Snow has started and the 600 FT driveway won't clear itself

I saw your video,, I almost had the same issue, Your not going to want to do this but you will find that above the fuel bowl there is a fine screen, that plugs up with dirt and sand
over time. Yes the machine starts and runs, but what is happening this that your running out of fuel to keep it running, when it sits, enough fuel fills the line, when there isn't enough fuel to keep it running, it dies. This is a tough *** job.

More than likely it is Fuel starved or starving. The filter above the fuel bowl is jam packed with crud. A simple way to find out if this is so, is a to shut off the fuel flow take an empty container, take the end of the hose or line connected to the carb, and let it free stand into the empty container, open the fuel and let it run into the empty container, if the fuel flow chokes off over time this will tell you that the fine screen above the fuel bowl is clogged.

I have a massey ferguson to35 and if you go out after setting and start it at full throttle it will start and run pretty good but when you throttle it down it runs poorly and backfires sometimes and wont stay running except at full throttle after that and it has the rpm and speed of what it has at an idle.
