Hi folks. I've narrowed my search down to these 2 compacts. I want to go with a compact tractor loader at just under 25 HP to avoid the need for a Diesel Particulate Filter. I decided early on against Mahindra (reliability concerns) and Deere (price). Both the Massey and the Kubota dealers I'm speaking with have long histories and good reputations. The intended use is gravel driveway maintenance, snow removal, and grounds maintenance (we never put in a yard, so you can guess what the area surrounding the house looks like). We have a 250' drive, a 50' rounded parking area, and about 2/3 of an acre of thick weeds. The rest of our 3 acres is currently wooded.
Both machines have R4 tires, rear wheel spacers and rear chains. The spacers are a standard $233 option for the Kubota. The Massey dealer has a machinist who for $400 can fabricate spacers for the 1726E. The Massey loader bucket is 60"; the Kubota's bucket is 66". Both are quick release types. I plan to add an aftermarket 5' rear plow, and a spreader for salt or sand. Kubota offers a rear worklight option, which will be useful with the rear plow. Both will come with block heaters.
Financing offers are 10% down and 72 mos at 0% on the 1726E, or 60 mos at 0% on the Kubota. I have a detailed price breakdown for the 1726E, and should have one for the L2501 in the morning.
Thoughts?
