I just bought a new "2017" MF 1742, DL125 Loader, shuttle shift, seven days old and 6 hours on it, I am very disappointed with the quality, I've been moving fill sand around a new garage, as I lifted the loader bucket, "filled" I heard a noise, i opened the hood and noticed the fan blade is hitting the shroud, first problem. Now I went into the pile of sand to fill the bucket in the corner, so i could dump next to the garage wall, The dealer told me I can't do corner lift's because the loader will flex...... Now the quick release bucket will not come off, apparently its flexed from corner lifting? I owned a TC30 for many years and did corner lifts many times. no issues.

I am with you, I have a 1531 and it is junk. Problem after problem. Agco and dealert won't stand behind there tractor or repairs. I have over 30,000 dollars in this tractor. I am afraid to use it because of its reliability issues. Seem like something is always breaking down on it. I have been accused of bashing massey ferguson, but I am trying to get the word out. Lots of issues and problems with the front end if you have a loader and use it much. I have shepled the four wheel drive 3 different times, broke the steering cylinder, and now the whole front axle is coming loose. I am going to have to crawl under it and see what I can figure out. "
"Massey ferguson compact tractors are a real work of art" LOL ( truthfully nothing to laugh about)

This is not bashing , it is just telling of your misfortune with a tractor . As for me I am glad someone just tells it like it is , good or bad .

Reading this really makes me glad I went for the "economy" model, apparently the 17xxE models are completely different than the "premium" models.

I wouldn't tell them you were doing corner lifts. I remember reading both tractor and loader manual saying not to do corner lifts.

What is a corner lift?

As far as I know, it is when have all the weight in the bucket shifted to one side of the bucket. That is what I always considered a corner lift. Doing this creates a couple of issues:
1) the lopsided distribution of weight particular on the little compact tractors, decrease their stability and increases the risk of an upset or roll over.
2)it creates an uneven stress or flex on the loader which could cause twisting affect that springs the loader arms.

If it is 50 or 100 lbs, it is no big deal, but if it is really heavy you run a chance of getting yourself in trouble.
I have a 185 allis Chalmers with a loader. I don't worry to much about it. I have big round bales with and so on. It can take a lot. I worry more about the spindles on the front axle of the tractor.

Thank you Phillip. You explained it better than I would of.

I'm surprised, my Massey (Iseki built) tractors have been very strong and extremely reliable. Sorry to hear about your problems.

Got it, I guess 8 just never heard it called that. Doing so is obviously not something that should be done but the FEL should take it if it is rated for the load. I think that is partially why Kubota's conservative ratings are often lower than some brands. I know I can lift more than what my two Kubotas are rated for but I only do that on a centered load.
