I have a newly acquired 245 with auxiliary hydraulics I'd like to eventually make use of and a question that the OWNERS MANUAL doesn't address.

Is it normal thatb the control levers be stuck, immoveable if there are no remote cylinders attached to the access ports?

I'm thinking the auxiliary hydraulics were never used, and possibly the controls are rusted fast?

Thanks

Levers on a normal spool valve can be moved with nothing connected to the quick disconnects.

If the levers are in fact rusted or frozen in place and you have tried all the usual methods for freeing them (liquid wrench, wd40, etc) then you probably are looking at disassembly and rebuilding the spool valves. It's a job you can do yourself (if you can get parts) or you can find a local hydraulic repair shop.

Good luck.

I don't know if this applies, but my loader control stick has a lockout to prevent operation of the valves when the loader is detached. You may want to see if there is such a device on your controls.
