MF 253 Info?

Hi,
I saw some of the past posts on the MF 253 and there were not many comments either on here or any of the other sites for that matter. I am talking to a guy I know who has a 1994 with almost 2000 hours and he is wanting $6500. I think I could get it for between $5000 to $6000. It looks to be in very good to excellent condition with very little wear. Any comments, advice, suggestions or questions I should ask? What things should I look for or have checked out before purchase?

I forgot, If it has 2000 hrs on it, the tires should be about wore out or have a almost new set on there. Ken Sweet

The price sounds good. Have you heard it run yet? Look at the filters and see if it looks like the maintance has been kept up on it. Other than that that tractor is a good model:thumbsup:
