The Kid: Thanks for the info and I did what you recommended and yes i was able to push the rod and the gear shifter came out of reverse and I could set it where I wanted.
I was finally able to run the mower flaailer at low (creeper speed) because the gras was not only tall but very thick atand at times had to do half cut.
I noticed the temp gauge rose to about 200 F. that was only half way on the range on the scale. What is the normal running temp and at what is considered too hi? After I shut down and let it cool down enough to open the radiator cap , there was adequate coolant present. When does it start to steam?
