MF 6495 Tractor - hel with 3pt linkage controls

My neighbour has just taken delivery of a MF 6495 (6400 series) secondhand tractor. We are having trouble trying to find out how to activate the 3 pt linkage lever. We have found what we believe is the level, but there are also a number of dialed settings -- can anyone help by telling me how we get the lever to actually move the arms up and down - sounds a silly question, but we have run out of options and clearly are missing engaging something???????

The MF 6495 tractor mentioned is a 2005 model and is 195 Hp. if that helps any experienced operators. Cheers OG
