Im currently looking around for a 60" box scraper for my TC24. Last night I stopped into the MF dealer and was surprised that his price on an MF scraper was less than $500. (Around here $500+ seems to be a std price for this item.) He said a company called Talyor makes it for MF. The quality looked good esp beside a lighter Kodiak (for almost the same money). I suspect this implement is of good quality but I thought Id ask just to be sure.

As an aside when I purchased my tractor I got a quote for a bit more than $500 for a LP 60" BB15. In light of the quote last night It seems a bit on the high side. At any rate now that Ive done some looking Im glad I didnt get the BB15. I think the BB25 is comparable to the MF implement I looked at last night.

No offense to anyone working for the big brand name dealers.. But I suspect that you will find that the highest prices for implimints will be from the tractor dealers.. like Kubota, NH, JD, etc.

When I priced box blades... TSC had lower prices for box's than any of the dealers. Some were heavier than others.. but overall.. TSC was in the middle.

I ended up getting a used 'light' 60" box for my tractors.. works good.. was way cheap.. and I still havn't hurt it yet... though the previous owner had hit a stump with it and bowed it a little... nothing that a torch prybar and sledge hammer didn't fix...

So shop around... sometimes you will find that even local metal shops and farm stores sell implimints.

Thanx! Sadly there are no TSC type places around here....only dealers. Several yrs ago I visited friends in MI and was impressed w/ all of the farm stores, implement dealers etc. In a tractor sense it was like entering into the promised land. Alas NE in general doesnt have enough real working farms to support such enterprises. So, if I buy locally it has to be a dealer. On the bright side trucks still come to NE which means I can mail order...so I have a quote request out to Corriher.

Im going for a heavier unit b/c its grossly rocky here in NH and I felt that a lighter unit would eventually wear out.

I have finally figured out there are bargins in the used equipment field if you are not in a hurry to buy. A little research and you can find some excellent equipment at a great price. I found a 60" box scraper for $100.00. It was heavy duty unit, and was purchased to level some ground a home was being built on. I have found in the farm equipment arena time is money. Just my two cents worth. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

jimg, I also live in NH and found it difficult to get reasonable priced attachments from the local dealers. So I ordered a Midwest box scraper from Carter & Carter (CCM). Cost then was $325 + $140 to truck it here. Took 2 days.

I just noticed that they have the 60 inch Midwest in your favorite color on sale for $295 + shipping. So for less than $450 you can get a really good product.

Hey Jim, what about Corriher? I am getting one of there smaller ones when my TC24 comes in. You can borrow mine, I assume the backhoe will be on most of the time (at least in the begining). Right now they are selling a 72 on ebay for $360. (About $50 for shipping at least on the smaller one shipped to depot or something like that). HD availible too, and it will match that blue thing in your garage /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. It looks really nice parked there. (passed by this morning while killing a couple of minutes with the kids). I believe they are made by Midwest.

Hi Dave,
Thanx for the offer! Let me think on that a bit. The unit from Corriher would be Midwest's std duty unit. Thats what Im looking for. I think anything lighter just wouldnt stand up to the rocks and roots. In back of the house Im reclaiming some woods and I know its going to be tough going b/c I think it was never pasture or field so none of the rocks were cleared. Thanx again for the lead and offer. BTW is there any word on when the backhoe might be in?

Yes, that tractor does look good in the garage. However, it looks much better working. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yup, this is where I began my journey. Ive been looking now since I got my tractor and there just isnt anything. The few Ive found get auctioned w/ a tractor or other implements that I dont need or want. Anyway, Im keep an eye out in case something does show up...but I also need to start the driveway soon. I live in a tractor wasteland (for the most part). jimg
