OK, so I have a deep well. Over 700' and 250' to water.

I have an outbuilding about 250' away from home, and about 50' in rise above home.

I ran 1" PEX type tubing up to the out building, ending in a Yard Spigot. About halfway up, also placed another yard spigot.

I teed into the line from well to house.

I only have usable pressure when the well pump is running. When it is running, pressure is great. When it is not running, just a dribble. Since there is a check valve between the outside of the house (where the tee is) and the pressure switch, the pressure never really drops.

I think I know the solution to my problem, but I don't like it.

I have to tie into the house water, after the pressure tank, or tie in a jet pump for the line. Am I right in that assumption?

I have a similar system, but the check valve is where the pipe exits the well, so the entire line is pressurized all the time.

No way to move the check valve back down the line, maybe just out of the well?

I guess I could, but it would take a good bit of work. The valve is a brass fitting, right before pressure tank and little slack in there to work. What you suggest makes sense. I have to look at how I could skin that cat.

Yup, check valve between the pressure tank and the tees you want to supply water from. Simplest thing would be to take the check valve at the house off and move it to the well head. That way, the line from the well to the house will be supplied by the water stored in the pressure tank when the pump isn't running.

Yep, the pressure switch isn’t seeing the pressure drop from the new line. Move the check valve.
I’m surprised you don’t have other yard valves/hose bibs that you could have tied into to get to the new location...... somewhat confused on that one.

How far from the house (distance and elevation) is the well? May need to move pressure switch up hill. 1 inch of water 50 feet uphill will cause a lot of pressure.

There has to be a first line at some point. This was that point.

It is right next to the house. 50' will be about 20 PSI. House runs at 60 PSI, so I should have about 40 PSI at the outbuilding.

can you run another pressure switch in parallel on that line that will turn on the well pump when you open a spigot? should not interfere with the house behind the check valve. set it for 5 or 10 psi lower than your house pressure to keep the check valve closed.
