To topgreasenipple is there to grease the bearing at the steeringwheel. Two pumps will be ok in 12 months. Clean that nipple afterwords as not to dutry your cloths.
At rhe bottom grease will be fine .

Many thanks, guys. I'm glad the mistake wasn't as catastrophic as I first feared :)

Hello Frode, Did you grease the front axle pivot? There are 2 grease nipples to grease and they are easily over looked, especially on the bent axle models.
I did not find those two.. I even went out looking now! I have the straight axle, and I did find one single grease nipple centered at the front, I'm guessing that's it, perhaps there is only one on the straight axle model?

Should be two, the other is on the top in-between the radiator and engine, jack up the front so you get the grease in. Check for cracks or extensive wear, it's a known weakness, particular if it has a loader. Not unusual that the wear is so great that the front axle brakes free and damage the engine and radiator. On the positive side if it has wear the parts are very cheap to buy.

Hello Frode, Agvg is right about the 2nd zerk location.
Suggestion, find out if there is a kit to retro fit a remote zerk for ease of future greasing. The MF 240 front axle was very similar to the 135 and the remote front axle greasing system may just screw straight in if you are lucky.

I agree with Mike, at this rate it's probably fine. It's a low speed gearbox anyway. Lots of people replace the gear oil in brush hogs with leaky seals in their gearboxes with cornhead grease. It's a solid, kinda, until it warms up but it stays thick. There's more than one way to skin a cat!

(though, I'm not sure why anyone would want to skin a cat. :( )
people in asian countries eat cats, they boil them alive, so as to release adrenaline, which they like the taste of!. also, the boiling removes the fur..
