G'day just thinking out of the box a little here bit is it possible it is one of your 3PL lower arms hitting the rear tyre and getting thrown back against the final drive??

Try tying your linkage arms together and take it for a drive

Just to be sure of the description of the problem -- you say "twisting one direction ?" What do you mean there -- turning left or right ? Only left? Only right ? Or did you mean something else.

This may sound unrelated but does this clank occur when the 3pt lift control is mid range or only when it is up near the top ? There is a well-known hard and serious sounding loud "clank" in the MF tractors for many generations having to do with the 3pt lift hydraulic motor mounting inside the frame. That is "normal," even if crazy to say so, but it should not happen when the lift control is mid range or down.
