The problem is, the collar won't budge! :(

You pull the collar on the female end back, away from the male end, so that the male end can pop out. Is this correct???

Valorum, Do you have a 1533? If so, you should be able to just push the hose on or pull the hose off.

It does take a little force but you don't need to pull the collar back. Just make sure there is no pressure in the hose. If there is a slight bit of pressure it wont go. That's happened to me more than once when I forgot to rotate the FEL joystick (with the tractor off of course) before removing the FEL.

First off, it was a pain in the butt to disconnect the connectors. I assumed (since the manual doesn't give any detailed info on how to exactly do this) that they at least work similar to air connectors: You pull the collar on the female end back, away from the male end, so that the male end can pop out. Is this correct? If so - the problem is that on ours, you cannot move the collars. There is no clearance between the collar and the base plate through which the pipes & connectors poke. The connectors on the tractor end have the collars on them, but there's a C-clip on each side of the base plate, and there's 0 space between the collars and the base plate. So there is no way to pull back the collars. The only way that i was able to disconnect things was by pushing the tubes on the tractor end forward, thereby making the whole thing slide forward inside the collar (which would stick against the base plate) and thereby effectively getting the same effect as if i'd pulled back the collar. It's just next to impossible to repeat this going back in, and on top of that, i cannot believe that that's how it's supposed to be! Did they install things incorrectly perhaps??

I have the female ends (with the collar) on the hoses that stay with the loader, the male end stays on the joystick, sounds like yours are just the opposite of my setup.
That is the way I bought it, demo'd by the dealer at pre-delivery show and tell.

Valorum is my husband - we have the 1533. We did the rotation of the FEL joystick with the tractor off before disconnecting, so all pressure should have been off. Valorum had the dealer send someone yesterday to double check the setup and the gentleman showed Valorum the "trick" to get the ends to connect. It'll be interesting to see if I'll be able to pop these plugs in and out solo or not.

Did you have any luck getting the ends to connect easier? Just wondering what the trick was.

I wonder if it is explained in the owner's manual. I have three manuals with mine, one for tractor, one for loader, one for the backhoe. plowking

I did my 300 hr service this week and took the loader off so I could check and clean all of the pins.

The hoses pulled off and pushed on no problem with no pressure in the system. They actually went on very easily. You should have no problem doing it yourself.

Good luck, let us know how you made out.

My new 1533 also has this problem, only with the yellow hose. In the first two days it kept popping off. The dealer came over and put it back on, and it stayed on. I took the loader off last night and had a **** of a time getting it back off, just the yellow one, and I released all the pressure several times.I can only assume its a bad coupler. It seems that I cannot push the feed line in enough to release it. I had to drive a wood shim from the filter to the back of the feed to get it to release. And there is no instructions in the manual for this. The machine is a week old now with 14 hours.
