I watched a documentary on the worlds tallest bridge in France. The designer claimed it was 'important" for it to appear to be as delicate as a butterfly or some such thing. I'm not holding my breath for that one to stay up either!

The National Transportation Safety Board said on Thursday that "design errors" were found in a pedestrian bridge that collapsed in March at Florida International University, killing six people and injuring eight.

The NTSB said Thursday it had not made any conclusions about the probable cause of the collapse...

They are saying there were design errors but they don't know the cause? That's a bit of either CYA or releasing info that shouldn't be released. Or maybe just bad reporting.

^^ You can die of heart attack brought on by any combination of factors including lifestyle or diet 'errors', but they may not be able to pinpoint any one direct cause.

When is the FIU bridge good-ol-boys club going to crumble like their bridge did? People died and they didn't like how photos of the cracks were "accidentally" released? Like the attorney for the one family said, everyone involved with installing that bridge has some liability for the deaths.

I have heard nothing about this since the time of the accident. I did hear just tonight that this bridge had been touted as the "feminist" bridge. Female design team or something like that. IS THIS TRUE? If it is, why is this the first I have heard this?

Columbia Journalism Review has En-Volve classified in their 'Fake-news, clickbait, and hate sites' category.

Snopes: "In a statement emailed to FactCheck.org by a company spokesman, MCM President Jorge Munilla said the stories circulating spewed hate against women and minorities while promoting white supremacy, which we will not tolerate as a company".

IT I think you need to re-appraise your sources of news. There are actors out there trying to make us fear one another. Looks like you might have found one.

This is how people wind up believing things that aren't true. Starts with a fake story, then gets shared, nobody bothers to dig down and find the truth, and then before you know it people are passing the fiction off as fact.

Well, like so many things (going to the moon for instance) I have no personal way of knowing truth. I guess I would be upset if I know that the focus on building a bridge was the Gender of the designers and not the Engineering integrity.

I don't care who builds stuff where SAFETY is a big concern, but I want the most capable people hired regardless of gender, skin color or anything else. AND I want them vetted (Is that the right word?) without predjudice. That's all I'm saying.
