Michelin LTX A/T 2 review

If you tow a lot kick your tire pressure up to at least 40 pounds/ I run 50 pounds, only problem is when empty it rides like a truck☺

I have a 2500HD GMC Diesel and most of my miles are with heavy loads and I got amazing wear with mine. I am OCD about tire pressures though, I run 80 in the rears when towing and drop them to about 38 when empty. I run the fronts at 55 all the time. 80 in the rears empty rattle my fillings loose!

I have had 2 MB Sprinters as my work vans that with Cuomos.. they were done at about 33k miles. Both times I replaced them with LTXs.. got rid of the first sprinter at about 80k miles and the Michelins looked to have another 30k left on them. Current van is at 40K miles.. LTXs on it now for about 7-8k miles, still look new. The improvement in ride quality is very noticeable with the LTXs. ..They are pricy but IMO worth the money.

Typically run around 40 psi. The truck gets aligned frequently because I can. In fact, my truck just got aligned for the fourth time with the new tires. Down south the roads are silkly smooth whereas up here in the nations iceboox, our roads are in far rougher shape. I am trying to get a warranty out of Michelin for my last set of tires since they were rotated every 5,000 miles, and the truck had also been aligned at the time of purchase and all four tires had less than 3/32nds tread left. We'll see as my dealer is dragging putting in the warranty claim.

Lots of variables. I keep my tires always at 80# but never rotated or got an alignment done during the the 68k miles. We do have decent roads around here.

The stock POS tires gave up at 28K and I got stuck on wet grass twice. Never got stuck with the LTX A/T 2

I ran 3 sets of LTX on my 4Runner and got 85K-95K on each of the first 2 sets. 3rd set got only about 30K (someone ran into it and totaled it). Bought them at Costco and got the free balance/rotation/inflation every 5 or 6K miles. Will definitely look at Michelins again when my Tundra OEM tires wear out.

I have the Defenders on both my Chevy Silverado and Ford Lariat. The Chevy will go just about anywhere in 4WD. The Ford will slip and slide like it's on wet snot. Go figure.

I have those tires on my 2015 Tundra. Can't comment on wear as the truck only has 20,000 miles on it, but I am happy with handling, ride, and traction. I immediately bought a set of dedicated A/T tires with aggressive tread for my previous 2 trucks for winter use. I didn't with these Michelins, and haven't regretted it.

I ran them on my last GMC 1500 and got great life out of them but on my Ram 2500 with the diesel I only get about 35K miles out of them. Even with keeping it aligned and rotated it eats front tires (wears the outside edges) and the 65+ psi on the rears wears the middles out of them. End up with tires with more life on the insides edges and the outsides gone. Probably something to do with it weighing almost 5K pounds on the front axle and 800 foot pounds of torque trying to spin them on the back axle. But at least they grip well.

I have ran many sets of michelins over 80k miles. I think my new ones are rated at 60k.
